I've had a server with IGSOBE for 7 months now and I'd like to share my experience with you:... See More
As I have run into their Christmas special I got a great deal on the dual Opteron server and that was set up rather quickly for me considering the demand.

Server run rather quickly on the 1Gbit port I had and after 2 months I have requested a HDD upgrade from the standard 450 GB disks to the 750 GB one, that was done within 24 hours and I was guided by John on the whole upgrade process. After the server came back online and everything was set up there was my mistake of wrongly configuring the additional IP addresses on the server which resulted of the server downtime
- immediately reported, opened a support ticket and the server was back online within 35 minutes. Impressive I must say.

Within the first 2 months I've requested from John a virtualization services on the server and I was suggested VmWare ESXi and was given direct instructions and help how to use and manage my new ESXi server to see and test this technology a bit further.

I have really given these guys some work, few OS reloads and help and they did an extra mile for me on everything from explaining me the risks of each operation and giving me help how to properly manage my server - which I haven't seen in other companies
I've been with.

I like hundreds of others was drawn to the amazing prices IGSOBE was offering during their Christmas promotions. Great hardware on a gigabit line for less than I was paying for a P4 on a shared 100mbit? I wasn’t about to pass that up, scam or not, I can risk $50 to find out :D

After all was said in done on irc I had ordered the following.

2x Xeon 3.06 | 4GB RAM | 400GB HD | 10TB transfer | 1000mb port | No setup fee

1.) I was told up front the equipment I wanted was not currently in stock and that if I wanted to proceed I would have to wait for ordered and shipped, many other users were already doing this so I accepted and put in my order.

2.) I was given the fedex tracking information for this order so I’d know when it was going to arrive, if it took longer than expected, there’s no one to blame but fedex.

3.) When the fedex shipment arrived I asked for an eta on how long till they got around to mine and was told it could be a few days because there were a lot of servers to setup with the hardware that was ordered.

4.) I ended up having to wait several days for the installs ahead of my order in the queue to be taken care of, but IGSOBE did fairly compensated me for my time, something they didn’t have to do as I had no prior arrangement of what would happen if my install took longer to complete.

5.) When I say I was compensated fairly I don’t mean they gave me a coupon for McDonalds (not that i’d turn it down lol) but John gave me a hardware upgrade to 2x Opteron 246s instead of the slower Xeons that I had ordered at no additional fee. I was also given 10 days of free time to my billing agreement.

So hopefully what you can take from this, is that not all experiences from any company are alike and more often than not there are external factors for the differences. Some people are impatient and can’t be asked to wait for a good deal, I waited and am glad I did. Now that the Christmas rush is over I’d imagine the wait times are a lot less aswell.

Oh and I did a speedtest for those of you interested. Thats 41MB/s with a capital MB, so around 330megabits. Had I a bigger file to test i’m sure it would have kept climbing.

My conclusion? IGSOBE offers affordable dedicated server solutions cheaper than the rest, with speeds that make your 100mbit hosts feel all dirty.

Very polite, I have spoken to John, Roman, Liam and just about everyone at IGSOBE, and they've been great to me.

I have seen times when live support is offline but whenever I've opened a ticket for an urgent issue, they were right there to help me.
