If you live in a Terraced house in which it is the rear of the house that is South Facing ( which is best suited for all day Sunshine) do not waste time trying to apply for solar panels from ashadegreener as they do not want to be bothered with... See Moregoing through the house
ie,saying there is poor scaffolding access which as far as i'm concerned is rubbish as I can easily take my full length ladder through to the rear of the house when required

We have been given the run around by A Shade Greener regarding Solar Panels. Considering we have very low electric useage and are partly LPG for water heating, hob and lounge fire I cannot believe we are not suitable for solar panels. Our neighbours to whom we... See Moreare attached have land gas and are timber frame construction (so obviously we are as well). They have been approved but do not want to go ahead. Another neighbour has gone ahead 3 doors away from us and he has solid wall construction. A third neighbour was refused because he uses too much electricity for heating etc., We have been told because we are solid wall construction (attached to a timber frame? I don't think so!!) and because we have LPG (what's the difference between LPG and land gas???) we can't have them and also that our EPC energy rating would not meet their requirements of a D. We have topped up the loft insulation to beyond government requirements and timber frame means that there is insulation between each piece of the constructed walls, so very efficient, we only have to put one storage heater on all winter. They can't have it both ways, use too much electric, sorry no, use very little electirc, sorry no. and where the hell on their website does it mention an EPC rating - it doesn't. I am now suspicious of both their marketing and ethics not to mention the fact that their surveyor got it all wrong!!! #applywithcautionand be prepared to be messed about.

Don't use!!! My mother had a boiler fitted 6months ago. Damaged her walls and ceilings with a leakage. Didn't plaster the holes that were left or take the electrical wires that were left until complaint after complaint went in. Now waiting on decorators to turn up after two companies have... See Morerefused to work for the company. Not only have they caused damage to the house but its also had a detrimental affect on my mothers health.
